This is a very special early Ventura 14K gold in excellent condition. Released on January 3, 1957, along with the Van Horn, the Ventura was the first electric watch on the market, and it remains the most popular model with today's collectors. This according to Rene Rondeau, who says in his book, The Watch of the Future, "Today, as in 1957, the remarkable asymmetrical design symbolizes the unique character of Hamilton Electric watches".

The unique design by famed industrial engineer Richard Arbib took the watch world by storm and completely surprised Hamilton executives who initially thought of the Ventura as a promotional marketing piece.

This Ventura has an exceptional solid 14K yellow gold case with dial and hands correctly restored by the company who once did this work for the Hamilton Watch Company. The flawless, new-old-stock glass crystal is domed and glares a bit when photographed under bright lights, so the actual watch will exceed expectations.

Equipped with the caliber 500 movement, this watch has been freshly serviced with correct Hamilton signature crown. The exceptional two-piece solid 14K gold case fits tight. It has crisp edges and is not buffed out. The handsome original dial has been correctly restored as described above using plates from the original Hamilton design, and the watch has a new correct domed glass crystal. The band is a water resistant, tan leather "luggage strap" design which sets this watch of perfectly.

Exceptional find and a rare watch.
