Fabulous asymmetrical Hamilton Pacer. Next to the Hamilton Ventura, this is one of the sought after classics. The watch is in good shape with the original black dial and the appropriate markings for the year. Everyone wants to say they have a 1957, which was the first year that it was introduced, however, unless you are a collector, you don't want the first year. There were three movements made by Hamilton. By far, the best movement was the 505 electric movement, which this watch possesses. The best electric watch repairman, Rene Rondeau, actually replaces, in many watches, the 500 original movements with a 505 movement. The reason is reliability. This watch has crisp points and looks great with what is believed to be an original crystal. Has an exceptional cognac band. The Pacer is a radical design and one of the true classics in all of American watch history. On the back of the watch, there are several minor dings and the crystal has a few tiny scratches. If you are looking for a very nice original Pacer, then you should consider this watch.
If you know Hamilton Electrics, then you know they aren't perfect time keepers. This watch runs about 90 seconds fast and that's the best we can get. Might be a good thing for some of us!
