Rare, rare, Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date. Today, if you look all over the internet, you will not find an unrestored completely quad signed Rolex like this one. This watch had to have been a special watch from its beginning. As I'm told, it was purchased and owned by one man until last summer. Last summer it was completely serviced for $650. I've never seen an Oyster Perpetual Date with 14K hour markers on a roman numeral dial that is original with just the slightest patina. Combine it with a 14K turned bezel (flat not beveled) which shows each cut with very few flaws (generally, they are well worn and buffed to near extinction), and you have a unique combination.



The watch would be 32 years young with serial number 5,670,xxx. We are far from complete. Now we have an Oyster (not Jubilee) band which is 14K/stainless steel complete in links with 2 extension links (band and links are worth $750 alone). The band, where it joins the watch, is numbered 78353/19 and the clasp is original and matches the band, 78353/14. I know the watch has not been worn extensively because the model number 1501 and serial number 5,670,xxx can clearly be read between the lugs. (Usually, the metal to metal wear rubs the numbers down or eliminates them as the watch ages.)



The watch is just absolutely unique. It measures 37.83mm including the crown and is 42.72mm from lug tip to lug tip. The case back number 1500 is totally acceptable on the 1501 case and it reflects the continuous service this watch has received with watchmakers service marks, which is impressive. (The watch was regularly serviced.) The movement is a 1570, offering engineering and craftsmanship which is truly exceptional. I would say that if you are serious about a great investment piece that you can wear every day, this is a watch to consider. I seriously doubt that you can find a better combination anywhere.
