Big LeCoultre Tank is the best way to describe this watch. I love LeCoultres. They just keep running and going up. They are not my specialty, but this watch is one that is from my collection that gets more attention than the Rolex or Patek.

The unusual design and size, 24.28mm wide and 37mm long, provides a long, flowing impression. Hard to find the case design. The crystal (I wish you could see it in person) is triple cut, cascading from a pyramid in the center and moving to the side.

This watch was just restored by the best LeCoultre man in the US, in my opinion. Also in my opinion, the 438 movement was one of the finest that LeCoultre every built. The case number is 53739, which makes the watch a 1952. It will keep time within one minute per day.

The dial is just about perfect with striking gold markers, hands and a tiny, elegant second hand at 6 o'clock. Of all the LeCoultres of this vintage, neither the expert, or me the collector, have ever seen one in this condition. I take that back. The expert said "only 2 in 25 years." For me, it is the best I've seen in 30 years. You will not be disappointed. Did I mention it is a 17 jewel, cleaned and serviced watch with an elegant, unique, vintage band?
