Rare vintage Breitling Chronograph, early 1940s, steel watch. The dial is original with blue outer telemeter and inner red distance ring. At 12 o'clock it has a 45 minute chronograph and at 6 o'clock a second hand. The double pushers, recently reworked, set fine and hands return to their original start point. They, and the crown, are in excellent shape. The movement is a Venus 178 mechanical adjustable movement and recently serviced. Case back is 178 and the serial number is 561004. This serial number would place the watch in 1943 or 44, during WWII. I know everyone looks at websites. I just studied 2; one on ebay that has not been serviced and the dial doesn't compare, for $1500 starting, and one on a dealer website for $1950. If you want the best; this is it. |
