Zephyr 18kt (that is right) is rare and no longer produced. This watch has a 1570 movement that just had extensive repairs. I guarantee this watch for 2 years without reservation. Reference number is 1038 (that is correct for 18kt). Rare, rare, rare. Serial number 2, 261,193 or 1967. Certified authentic by a Rolex dealer and serviced by the same (certificate accompanies watch). 90% of Zephyr's are 14kt and a few were stainless steel, but rare is the 18kt with 18kt crown. The champagne crosshair dial is in excellent shape for the age on the watch. Large Rolex symbol at 12 o'clock. Bezel is engraved, detailed, and notched by hours. On the dial, the gilted gold is still present and the hands are mint. Case is excellent with factory lines on the back still faintly showing.
The Zephyr Oyster Perpetual with the 1570 is a 26 jeweled watch. The Zephyr line stands for the quadrant immediately divided into four sectors by two perpendicular lines and special bezel graduated astral defined which contains the indices recorded. The very fine finishing has a thin teminacion machine, plus the finish that is on current Rolex. Highly collectible!! Catalog model with prices which double the traditional models.
No longer in production, this is a piece for a collector but can be worn daily. It is a classy watch.
