One owner, 18Kt/SS from Omaha, NE. Serial number is 2m, which dates the watch to 1970. On the back case, the watch shows first quarter 1970, which matches the date between the lugs. Model is a 1500, which is a collectible watch and is documented on page 1060 of the "Complete Price Guide to Watches" NO30, 2010. This watch has an appraisal by Borsheims, 120 Regency Parkway, Omaha, Nebraska dated February 9, 2010, for $5850.00. I think they are out of their mind, but that is the papers that came with the watch. For those of you who do not know, Oyster date....although in most cases has the same movement as the Datejust, is 2mm smaller. This is a standard size Rolex. I don't like the huge watches, they hurt my wrist bone. This watch is very beautiful with a special dial. It is porcelain with gold markers and gold hands. All is original and in excellent condition. Additionally unusual is the roman numerals on the dial. It is a very clean and elegant watch. The jubilee band is in very good condition for 40 years old (actually, it is exceptional for 40 years). The watch has been well taken care of and serviced. It is ready for the next 40 years with a 1570, 26 jewel movement which is very high grade. Comes with a Rolex inner and outer box. Outer box has some wear. |
