Remember to buy the best. It will always be worth the most. I will always say it is about condition, originality and service. The original 1450 bracelet in this condition is priceless. The original Omega clasp is in excellent condition and has been refinished to factory specifications.

The bezel is near perfect. This is the hardest to find in this condition. Usually they are worn down from the 40 years of wear, but this one has only two very tiny chips that I can see under a microscope. But, you will not see them.

The crystal is in great shape with the hallmark Omega symbol in the center. There are two tiny scratches that I can find, but you see those when holding the watch at angles rather than when wearing the watch. There is a small notch on the side near the 10 marker. Again, only seen if you turn the watch that way to look.

The watch case is as new. With factory finish on the watch in superb condition. The watch has original Omega Crown which functions smoothly as the watch is wound. Case number 145022-69ST. Most people think that means '69, but in reality that was on the end of the case number for years. This watch is 1970. Movement number is 30586714, that dates the watch.

Hands and dial are original with very little patina on the watch. The luminous on the hands and dial still glow faintly, which is unheard of for a watch 40 years old.

This is a highly collectible work horse of a watch. The famous seahorse clearly visible on the back with the words "Speedmaster" very clear.

Side note, this is the "Professional Model." This model speedmaster is the first to say Professional and does not have the big moon crap on the back (I find that uncomfortable to wear).

Historical note-according to Wikipedia, NASA needed an approved wristwatch for space travel. Five different brands of chronographs were purchased. The Speedmaster passed NASA's numerous tests. The Rolex, Breitling, Bulova, Longines and Heuer all failed. The Omega Speedmaster was adopted by NASA as the "officially certified wristwatch for all manned space missions."
