| This watch is all original, except for the beautiful crocodile band. Hooded lugs are very unusual in any watch, but when you find one this huge it's very rare. The 14kt gold case is heavy. The case shows some wear on the ends where the band attaches. This was seemingly caused by storing the watch in a position that allowed the metal on the band to rub against the case (see photos). The case back is well preserved. There are some jeweler marks both at the "lip" on the case back for opening and on the case side (see photos). An excellent, excellent example for its age of an original Hamilton. One of the very early automatics from Hamilton. It would remind you of a Rolex bubble back. |
