The Ball Watch Company was founded by Webster C. Ball, from a commission by railroad officials in Ohio to institute precision timekeeping standards and inspection systems for railroad chronometers. From the company’s website – “It was his system that set the standards for railroads; it was his system that helped establish accuracy and uniformity in timekeeping. If you own a vintage Ball watch, you own an important and beautiful piece of history.
